This morning, after having listened to a profound webinar yesterday from one of the industry’s greatest online business women, I had a thought: “Successful people have a system in place for everything.”
Systems are ways of structuring great habits and enables one to put something in place that helps measure results.I thought back to a time when I was doing really well at achieving a particular goal: I’d lost a major amount of weight because I had a system in place. As time went by and the results of my hard work was becoming were more and more noticeable, I began, foolishly, to renege on my system. I got cocky; I started thinking that once the weight was gone, I would no longer need my system. I would think to myself, “Oh… I met my goal. Now I can chill!” Today when I look back I say, “Really?”
Broken and frustrated, and I have just plain had enough! Getting to that point— having enough— is what prompted me to try implementing the strategic system method once more… and I did just that.
Last week my sister introduced me to a system that works so well for me, it’s extraordinary. It holds me accountable and makes me look at food differently. It’s also a very simple process, so I’d like to share it with all of you, who are striving to live mindfully and have PURPOSE in every aspect of your life.
First things first: pull out your cellphone, go to your apps (I love apps) and check out the app MYFITNESSPAL. Next, enter your weight and your weightloss goals— the app will set you up with your calories for the day and you can get started. What I love about it is you can track your water and your workouts. Another great feature is that you can scan your food right from your phone and make friends so as to have a buddy system in place (Don’t you love having buddies?), and send encouraging messages back and forth to motivate one another and, ultimately, lose that weight!!!!!!I’ve found myself saying, “Wow!!!!!!!” repeatedly. It has been a week now that I have used it; during my minutes commenting, I log my food and look for alternate options— I never want to go over the allotted
amount for the day.I feel astoundingly wonderful with my nightly walks and feeling better about making better food choices. It brings me back to one of my life scriptures:1 Peter 5:8
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
We don’t have to be a victim to every situation that comes our way; instead, be on watch, preparing and stewarding everything that has been given to us. Continue to seek God in prayer for the answers and be vigilant over every area of your life because the enemy seeks to take us off track in a vicious way.
We walk by faith and strive to live a balanced, healthy life so we can do all the things He has planned for us.
Have a great friday and Be blessed ONpurpose
